You opened the box, he came.
Chris Mahon is a fantasy writer and essayist living in New York. He has a Bachelors in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University (they weren’t Lutheran, and neither is he) and graduated from NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute in 2014. After that, he went into hermitage in Brooklyn.
Since then, he’s appeared on sci-fi panels at New York Comic-Con, Silicon Valley Comic-Con, and Columbia University, spoken about ARGs at Glasgow International Fantasy Convention, and served as Managing Editor for Outer Places, a sci-fi/pop culture website. His first professionally published short story, “Old No-Eyes,” is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2018 in Beneath Ceaseless Skies.
You can also see his non-fiction work in the Hugo Award-winning Clarkesworld Magazine here:
- August 2013 Issue: The Candlelit World: The Dark Roots of Myth and Fantasy
- July 2016 Issue: Paradise Lost: A History of Fantasy and the Otherworld
- February 2017 Issue: Frodo Is Dead: Worldbuilding and the Science of Magic
If you ever want to get a hold of Chris for guest posting, collaboration, or a drink at the Lovecraft Bar in Manhattan, you can contact him at christophmahon (at) gmail (dot) com. Be aware that he doesn’t drink, except for milk. Ungodly amounts of milk.
